The Old Georgian Ballroom

Armorel collaborated with the architect on this kitchen renovation in an unusual family home that occupies the old ballroom of a grand Georgian house with equally grand gardens. By taking down dividing walls, and removing the ceiling to reveal the pitched roof, it has created a light and airy space that takes full advantage of the sublime views.
To reflect the building’s history and heritage the kitchen has been given a refined classic look. The walls and cabinets are painted in Purbeck Stone and Plummett by Farrow & Ball, colours that perfectly complement the clean delicate appearance of the Carrara Marble worktops and act as a foil to the antique brass knobs and schoolhouse pulls.

"Working with Tamsin has been an absolute pleasure. Generous with her time and ideas she developed a design brief to guide our thoughts on how to create a modern kitchen within a newly refurbished cottage. With an eye for detail and style she has produced a room which meets the practical needs of our lifestyle whilst being bright and airy and contrasting nicely with the historic nature of the building"
